Akademiks Clothing Gets Slapped For Giving Head on Bus
Hip-hip clothier Akademiks has raised the ire of New York's MTA for slipping sexually suggestive language into a transit campaign. In one ad, a hottie showing bootie is reading a book alongside the headline "Read Books, Get Brain" implying to the unsuspecting that reading makes you smart. Well, little do most know "get brain" means get head - the sexual kind. Needless to say, the MTA is angered by being hoodwinked with hip terminology and has vowed to take down the poster the New York Daily News reports.
The headline was no oversight. It was intentional as explained by Akademiks Ad Designer Anthony Harrison who said, "We knew this. It's coded language, city slang. Teens know what it means but the general public doesn't." It's now likely the term "get brain" will be retired for yet another inventive method of describing that particular means of relieving sexual tension.
The campaign also appears around the country in Miami, Los Angeles, Detroit, Chicago, San Francisco and Philadelphia. At least until they read the Daily News article.

Akademiks for life. Cause it's those who think like that, that are dirty so no one know's what akademiks was doing unless u assume and with that come ignorants like NY news papersor those trying to take the poster down.
I myself love akademik clothing but I feel if it was intentional then it was wrong, and yeah teens know what get brain mean, but it's sad that teens know but not adult. I feel we just sending the wrong message to children today about sex as far as these videos, songs, and even fashion. It seem like we as a nation showing, definitely "black" kids for the boys how to be pimps and the girls how to be sluts. I myself is black and come from the hood so I can definitely relate, and I myself is even guilty of relieving sexual tention as a teen, but it doesn't make it right. I'm not sayin sex is bad for a teen but I feel it shouldn't be advertise and used to make money and "turn these teens out" especially with this AIDS academic and other STD's. I just look at things like what if I had a child definitely a daughter, I wouldn't want to see her in an ad like that. And I definitely wouldn't want to know she given brain either...ya know what I mean, but hey do what u do
