Motorola Pays Madonna $8 Million For Ad

trucco_madonna.jpg

The New York Daily News has been informed Madonna was paid $8 million by Motorola for appearing in an ad for the company's new Rokr phone. For the $8 million, which Motorola paid because it was rumored Motorola was fearful Madonna would back out, the star spent ten hours filming the ad last week in London. That's a pretty good hourly rate.

No worries, I am sure the very charitable Madonna will be giving the $8 mill to upgrade the Kabbalah center so its wired for cell use.

That'll buy a lot of red string.

I already own an iPod and a phone -- Anyone who buys the Rokr is a tool -- Madonna is an old hag

you have got to be kidding. Who does Madonna connect to these days? Might as well have used the Cash-For-Promo kings, the Rolling Stones. Imagine the impact you'd have if you spent $8m on emerging dialog marketing mechanisms....

I dig Iggy's smashed face.

Madonna still connects with millions and Motorola knows this. Even if you don't like her music, press coverage is massive for every move Madonna makes. Paying for an equal amount of exposure would cost Mororola consideribly more than the reported $8 million they paid her. Good for Madonna!
