Wow, could that BE any more rude? It's amazing how insensitive people can be if someone is underweight. For one thing, she could be dealing with a very real eating disorder. It's a politically incorrect crime to complain about someone being fat, but it's somehow just fine these days to discriminate against people who choose to go in the other direction. I just watched The perfect man (believe me, i was interested, not a duff fan) and then Cheeper By the Dozen II, and boy what a difference can a couple of months make! She has lost even more weight since then:

She's short, about 5'2, and i doubt she even weighs 100lbs anymore. For some girls this is an acceptable weight, but for someone who had always been fairly large, this is a substantial weight loss in an insubstantial period of time. But it's a large burden to carry, growing up in the media spotlight and trying to be a good role model for young girls. Lindsay lohan and Mary-Kate olsen also grew up under the watchful eye of the media, and found it difficult to refuse the trappings of the hollywood ideal. I don't agree with it, but she's only 18 and very vulnerable.

Seriously, yes, there is a high possibility that she is anorexic, but who says it's our business? If you want to make a difference in the life of someone who is struggling with an eating disorder, then go find a young girl near you and help her. Encourage her, teach her, save her life...but complaining about Hilary isn't going to change a single thing. If she is ana, then so be it. Go do something worthwhile and do something to change the ideas that young girls get from celebrities who are stick thin. Teach people what beauty is. Complaining does nothing.

Hillary, don't know if you read this. I am a fan of yours. When you were younger you were sooo very pretty. One of the prettiest faces with porcelain skin and oval shape. After losing weight your face has become long, hollow, eyes sunken in, sallow skin, and heavy bangs under your eyes. I was shocked. You use to be so pretty. It's true you lost weight, but it's also obvious you are losing too much: pics of bones sticking out is not pretty. You're legs now don't look too thin "only" if you hike your dress all the way up. There isn't anything pretty about that and certainly not normal. While you haven't got as sickly thin as Lindsay Lohan did at her lowest weight, it appears that you may be headed that direction. I see you very thin in one awards show and recent photos show you even thinner and your face looking skeltal. I can't see Hollywood wanting that kind of image projected for it's pictures, endorsements, etc.: think Lara "Thin" Boyle. When she got too thin it became: no big deal, we can lay her off. Just think about it. A lot of your fans love you for your talent and beauty, but we are sad to see you beginning to look so sickly (unhealthy) and unattractive.

Anoreixia is hard enough without everyone jumping at you everytime you lose a pound. She is obviously ill, but she'll either get better and learn from it, or she wont get better and she'll end up hospitalized. Either way, who are you to judge her? She is smart enough to make her own decisions. Besides, eating disorders are not something people just decide to have. I also wanted to say that in one of my magazines it had an interview with Hilary Duff. It was before she got skinny. She said that she didn't care what other people thought of her weight. She said that she loves to eat. Yeah right! Let's see her say that now! Hilary Duff, the only reason that you lost all of that weight was because of what other people thought of you. i think the US media are responsible for the massive weightloss craze for celebs. Lindsay Lohan, said she saw a picture of herself in people, where they commented on her weight, then she decided to get in shape. People magazine also featured Hillary Duff, and said that she is gain wieght etc, from looking at one concert picture.

Personally, i think both of these girls were beautiful before their weightloss, now they just look, skinny/starved.
It sends a bad message to young girls out there, who worship these celebs.

OMG...ok I love Hilary and she is my role model. I have gone to her when I have needed help. Just thinking about how an ordinary girl can go from school plays to beoming someones role model, favorite singer, and favorite actress in one move. I can barely believe it myself. I used to think that i was fat, and my best friend would always tell me that i needed glasses or somthing because i wasnt, and i even tried going anorexic, but i couldnt do that to my friends and family. My best friend was awesome during that time, but about two months ago she got hit by a car and died, now i know that it doesnt matter what you look like, the people that really matter wont care what you look like, they'll care about losing the soul they love, its not what was on the out side that makes someone who they are, its on the inside that really matters, thats where God and your friends and your family have a place, not on the outside. So instead of trying to be pretty on the outside, maybe its better to do some redecorating on the inside, Hilary i think your a good singer and i admirer that in you, i also sing and act, but please, for the sake of the ones who really care about you, dont care so much about your outside to want to lose so much weight, God made you who you are for a reason, and he doesn't want you to get sick, or to worry your friends, family, and fans, instead he wants you to show them a good example of how to take care of yourself, the right way. Sure you can care about your body, but it doesnt matter that much on the outside, because your soul will shine through. Just make sure your healthy on both the inside and outside, and then live life, happy with who your are.

i just saw this musicvideo with hilary... Beat of my heart. I had to dobble check that it was corect Hilary! It didn't look like her at all. Her carachteristic looking beautifull face is gone. The "old" Hilary was "fall in love with" material. Now that she is ?ano? she is just another girl. Hollywood-girl that is.

LOOK!! The one thing to remember here is that, you only need to be fit for what you do, nothing more or less. If you need to do more, then your body will adapt, but dont make your body adapt to quickly, it will do it it's self, just keep it up and your body will change, Bigger or Smaller at first then level out.

AN EXAMPLE, a gymnast needs to be light and igile, a long distance runner needs to have stamena, endurace. "Dead weight" as in surpluss adipose tissue (fat) is just that, non working weight that make their boddies work harder, so they try to have as little as possible. This is achieved throught correct regulation of their food intake, to maximise the strength of their working weight, (MUSCLE) without sacrificeing nutrition.

It's nice to be fit for everything in life but skinny/slim/medium/large doesnt nesseseraly mean that you are or are not capable of anything. iv'e
seen some of the above perform terrably and fantasticly no matter their sise, and remember when cold would you rather sharp skin thing or warm curve person.

Diferent people prefer different abilities and apperences. Stop judging others, judge yourself!! make yourself your ideal fitness not based on others ideals. Take the pressure off everyone else and if the person you admire has a life-stumble, be hopefull for them so they can sort it out and join back in, stronger from it.

The diferance between celebs and other folk is that they have plenty of photos taken of them over the years and they are shown around. How many of you can say that every month a photo taken of you and shown around, to see the differance in your body. Not many.

Are you fit for what you do? If not, sort it out gradualy. If you are, good on you, now relax, stay there be happy. When you can do all you need to do in your life without a stgruggle, your there.

Hello everyone, Hilary Duff really scared me with this. I am not a fan of hers, but I know she has talent. It made me sad when people began to call her "fat" (who are you to judge my fellow Americans?) I had had an eating disorder, and it is hard to admit it. I know everyone will not support me what I say, but don't tell her to eat! That just upsets more for anorexics (like I was). Tell the person that there is someone to talk to, that you love them, care for them and can count on you no matter what...it makes me so sad when I read comments that she looks good and all...she's not.

Thank you; because I used to be a humongous Hilary Duff fan. I was fanatic, I loved her and idolized her. She seemed so perfect even with all her flaws. And I always thought of her as the most gorgeous; of course I had Aishwarya Rai at the front of the list but she was defiantly top three. I adored her so much, and I had very high hopes of meeting her one day. When she first started going skinny, there was a time when she had the perfect weight. I mean, not that I thought before she was fat or anything, she just seemed to have lost about 10 pounds but she still looked gorgeous –if not even more. I still loved her, I still idolized her. And when she didn’t stop – every photo shoot, every candid picture; she seemed to be getting thinner and thinner. Despite it all, I still supported her, I woke up at unimaginable hours and waited till the store opened to get the first copy of Most Wanted. I was ecstatic. I knew the truth though, I mean as beautiful as her eyes, earrings, dress, and even her boyfriend was on her 18th birthday. It was obviously how odd her head was shaped. Like her neck wasn’t strong enough to support it, it seemed as if it would snap in half. I felt so bad, because the perfect image I had of her in my head shattered to a million thin-to-the-extreme pieces. Just like her. I always thought she didn’t care, I always thought she was better than that. I mean, she is book smart than why did she do it? Unlike others, however, I’m very happy for her and Joel Madden. They’re adorable together, he’s like the bad guy. And she’s the good girl. They make a perfect couple. To me. But why couldn’t he or her mother or her sister stop her from that? How can she say that’s healthy? It’s not! And to add to the fact about her weight, she got caps on her teeth. Again, I tried to support her in this decision, and it probably wouldn’t have been so bad (despite how I adored her original teeth, because they weren’t perfect, but they were natural. They weren’t blinding white, but they weren’t yellowish either; I liked her teeth, and the structure of them too, i.e. view the cover of Metamorphosis). Anyways it probably wouldn’t have been so bad if she didn’t lose all that weight. Because now whenever I see her she looks too-much like her sister. Which I know, shouldn’t be a bad thing, but Hilary was always more pretty than Haylie. Haylie was thinner, taller, with an odd shaped head and chin. Hilary was short, normal, pretty, and she seemed to glow with radiance. (i.e. A Cinderella Story time) When she played Wendy, she was adorable. When she played Lizzie she was pretty, when she played Natalie she was very pretty, when she played Sam she was stunning with beauty. When she played Holly she was pretty-ish. Her punk meets retro meets preppy look never went good with her face. She was always the normal girl. Somewhat of a ‘Lizzie McGuire’ not popular, bitchy, stuck-up cheerleader, or the nerd, or is she the goth/punk type. She’s more of the normal, trendy, girl who is looked up to.

Maybe it’s the fact that I haven’t been getting proper sleep lately, or something but I can’t seem to make this sound right so please excuse it. But seriously I did love her. She was perfect. She needs to learn a lesson from her own character Lizzie, how are we suppose to accept her and love her if we don’t know who she is because she changes for people? She disappointed me… and I was, no doubt, her biggest fan.
