Stern Rings In Freedom With Stripper And Black Power
Courtesy of our roving New York photographer, Bucky Turco, we're blessed with this new outdoor board for Howard Stern mimicking the black power movement and promoting his new Sirius radio show. With the headline, "Let Freedom Ring. And Let it be Rung in by A Striper," the Howard Stern brand is clearly delivered.

This is brilliant branding! I'm not a big fan of Howard's, but this is a perfect ad for him. A bit smutty, a bit controversial, eye-catching, appeals to his fan base, and the fact it repulses his non-fans only deepens his appeal to his fans--and it's all communicated in less than 5 seconds. It's advertising at its best--indistinguishable from the product. Some ad exec deserves a raise!
Whatever. Howard only has just over a million listeners now. He's taken himself out and he knows it, he even sold all of his stock. When will XM buy Sirius?
Ironic that there is a "fitness for women" sign under it.
I don't know. I got SIrius for Howard and half the people in my office did as well. Howard is good, but the whole radio is better. In the two months I've had sirius, I haven't listented to my cd changer, ipod or regular radio in my car. And half the people that ride in my car end up buying sirius shortly after. Once you try it, you'll buy it.
this ad is two months old, steve, where's the new news?
Count me into the "Pissed-off Non-fan" camp. People were killed for associating with the Black Panthers, Socialist Workers Party and International Workers of the World. Way to leverage a symbol of revolutionary struggle for a foul-mouthed radio personality.
