Virgin Atlantic Says Book Flight Early. Really Early

virgin_first_minute.jpg

While research has certainly proved people form attachments to brands at an early age, hence the shameless marketing of crap to children, we're not quite sure those brand associations begin as early as Virgin Atlantic would like to have us believe. Of course that's not really the point of this ad but it's certainly analogous.

I agree with you. It's a sad trend that is catching up lately. I was speaking to one of the marketing head of a big brand soft drink manufacturer in india. He justified it saying that "We would wan't to catch them young and watch them grow with our brand, which in turn that kid is a potential customer for them in the future". What do you say?

While I would agree in other instances (soft drinks, fast food) with the idea of catching them early. I feel like they were just looking for a visual cue to get across their idea in V.A. ad.

Don't cry too early... This ad is for Virgin Express (Europe, not Atlantic) and was launched more than a year (or even two) ago by the gang of DuvalGuillaume Antwerp. Way before all this 'protect children' chitchat :)
