Yukon Gets Obsessively Passionate, Unquenchably Innovative Microsite

To promote its new GMC Yukon SUV, GM has launched an interesting campaign that uses graffiti-like imagery that's really engineering equations along with a URL pointing people to a microsite called Beyond the Drawing Board. On the site, there is endless information about the vehicle presented within the grafitti-like motif (OMG, did we just use the word "motif?" Please, forgive us. That's like saying "synergy" after the 80's ended.) Upon hearing the audio intro to the site, "What happens when passion becomes obsession? When the need to innovate is unquenchable? When the desire to create is all consuming?", we resisted the urge to respond, "Gee, um, create a piece of Flashtastic orgasmimage that makes our tired old laptop's fan spin up to top velocity in an attempt to cool the burden placed on the processor by all this Flashtastic exuberance."

Oh don't listen to us. The site is great. It's got a lot of info on it and it's presented quite well. Maybe it's just us but we just can't seem to equate a truck with words like passion, obsession, urge, unquenchable and desire. Like we said, don't listen to us. Oh, the site's promoted with. among other things, a magazine ad with the image of a gas pump covered with the equation graffiti and the site's URL.

You made it farther than I. As soon as a site resizes my browser window, I'm gone.

Good point David. I got so frustrated with that that I set Firefox not to allow sites to resize my window. That would explain why I had to scroll so much horizontally to see the site. Otherwise I would have been gone as fast as your were. That browser takeover shit is unacceptable.

Hmm...maybe I should set my browser back to allow resizes. Then I cold go back to ripping marketers new assholes for doing this:-)

I didn't know Firefox had that preference. Might be time for me to scrap Safari.
