One Sort of Facial Promotes Another

clinique_facial.jpg

You see. It's not just us. Even our readers' minds are as sick as ours. From a reader, this Clinique ad - currently appearing in People - comes to us today in an attachment called "Money Shot" along with wonderment regarding just what sort of facial is being eluded to. Really. How exactly does a glob of fluid on a woman's face promote moisturizing cream?

you have to be kidding me, right? This has to be a joke that somebody set up just to see if it would get through. Oh dear.

I'd like to know which issue of which magazine this ran in. No way in hell Clinique would be that obvious.

Please update if you get hold of a hard copy.

i sent it in. and yes, it is real. check out this week's issue of People. i also saw it in Redbook (i think). it is part of a 3 page spread. this was the most "compelling."

My wife is a CD on the brand. It's real. It's in her book.
Internally, no one ever makes the connection.
Can't wait to show her this.

Og my word, i did wonder when i saw it a while ago. I suppose the majority of the target audience will not make the connection. Or am i being as naive as the clinique client?
