This Movie is 'Brilliant,' 'Mind-blowing' Not

accepted.jpg

Our long time buddy Tony Pierce, now writing over at the LAist, has caught yet another studio in yet another fake quote promotional stunt. This time, it's for the movie Accepted and the critic in question is Paul Fischer. Who? Exactly. These positive quote manufacturers do their thing to hype horrible movies because no respectable film critic would bother touching these movies. You can check out Tony's stop motion TiVo analysis of the whole thing here.

I believe Paul is the owner of the Dark Horizon website. A rather popular site like "Aint it Cool News" that has a large following.

In other words.. the quote is as real as something THIS site might say.

The validity of the quote is not in question. The strange way studios use these overly glowing, written to be quoted reviews is.

brian, one issue is Dark Horizons didnt even run the article that Paul is quoted in on the ad.

And the review is no where on the web. all that is on the web is the three sentences that Universal used in their trailer.

something is definately fishy.
