Motorola Wants to Improve Your Karma

sven_motorola.jpg

Motorola has wrapped itself in the (RED) campaign and is promoting its Moto RAZR V3M phoe with a very odd site called Improve Your Karma on which a dude named Sven Goodsson gts all excited about karma. He'll even analyze your karma using youur MySpace profile as a yardstick. You might want to remove all those porn star...uh...friend profile from your site before you take the test. Tough, apparently, our lame profile registers as "awesome." Have fun.

I got a 'psst! check this out' e-mail from ichameleon group (who was handling the site promotion, apparently), and it was among the most ham-fisted attempt at viral spreading I've ever received in my four years of running a media site.

Note to viral marketers: Don't assume that webmasters are idiots, or that we don't already waste a goodly portion of our day slogging through similarly thinly veiled marketing pushes. If you're site is good enough to launch, then give us the info we'd rather have about it (who did it, what's the product, what other media avenues are being used, etc. etc.)
