One Armed Caveman Eats Candy Bar, Gets Munched

one_arm_caveman.jpg

If you're a caveman (no, not the Geico caveman because you, my friend, would somehow think this is yet another slight on your kind) and you're eating a "Half Chocolately, Half Candy, Half Crazy" Vertigo bar from Topps Confections, you might want to keep your arms close by. The campaign, which kicks off March 19, was created by Duval Guillaume New York and will air through May 28 on Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, ABC Family among others. Here's a look at one of the four :15's.

As the sister of an amputee, I'm appalled that missing limbs are being used as a source of humor in advertising, especially on children's television. It's bad enough children are given images of one-armed men such as Captain Hook, the one-armed killer from The Fugitive, and countless other negative images of amputees, now they're not only dangerous, they're comical! With thousands of U.S. troops returning from Iraq with missing limbs, the stupidity behind this creative is unbelievable. This is not just a matter of political correctness, this is common decency, of which Duval Guillaume NY is apparently completely devoid. How sad.

As a one-armed person myself, I am offended by Nicole Sands' comment. Why can't people like me be heroes in movies too? Glad I don't have a "sister" like that. Bravo Vertigo!

We in Quebec are so proud of these short clips simply because it is where it all started. 3 simple guys started a humour French website Tetesaclaques.tv in August 2006. Over one million short videos are watched per day, making the website one of the most popular in Canada. The creator, Michel Beaudet, has expressed surprise at the popularity of his site, and has said it has reached a size he would never have dreamed of.
Now in US!!!
I have a blog which is 100% Tetesaclaques. It is very informative on their popularity progression.
