Playboy Enters Second Life, Geeks Rejoice

playboy_second_life.jpg

OK, it's a slow news day around here so forgive us if we report the stunning news Playboy is going to set up shop in Second Life. Set to occur in June, details are scarce and Second Life Herald has a lot of questions such as will there be a virtual Mansion? Will the real world bunnies have anything to do with the virtual bunnies? Will there even be virtual bunnies? How many Playboy Bunny avatars will actually be fat, balding, middle aged gamer geeks getting their rocks off while staring at their virtual Bunny? Do tell, Hugh. Inquiring geeks want to know.

I wonder what the point is of having a looks-elitist entity like Playboy in a "world" where everyone gets to create what they look like anyway?

I am a proud Second Life Citizen, and I am sure that I do not speak for myself when i state that the playboy sim is the absolute worse sim in Second Life. What a waste. All residents (except the builder) remark on how ugly it looks. It is sad when marketing companies enter second life without clearly doing any research, then they end up with islands like the playboy sim and become the laughing stock of the metaverse.
