Lululemon's L'Odeur Leaves Something Lovely Wanting

lulu_lodeur.png

For L'Odeur, an edible perfume, Lululemon put together this ad that can't seem to decide whether it's Calvin Klein or SNL.

We weren't the only ones who cringed. The PR people didn't seem keen on it either. And we can see why. It's a little ... well, gross.

To be fair, the ending was kind of funny.

This ad isn't supposed to be serious, is it? I mean come on... the line about the fat man stuck in his car in the desert? Dialogue seems designed to get a chuckle. Did you get p'nked in some form?

There is NO possible way that is a serious ad. Lululemon is known for having a good sense of humor.

Is it just me, or does the sound of L'Odeur sound like just like "Lauder." This ad is a gag riff on a few brands.

P.S.There is a chewing gum manufactured by Kanebo that uses proprietary technology to scent the user's skin (rose or vanilla). Chew Fuwarinka and you can smell like Glade. What will they think of next?
