Vlad Putin Makes Time's 'Person of the Year'
Why does Vladimir Putin deserve to be named Person of the Year? Probably because of his insightful commentary on Call of Duty 4.
Quoting from Time Magazine, the Quintura blog provides a more intuitive reason, if "imposing stability on a nation [...] at significant cost to the principles and ideas that free nations prize" can be considered more intuitive. (We'd call it "catty.")
Some might call it an improvement on last year's choice, though.

People in Russia call him "the roof" His really whipping the country into shape. I'm hearing its getting much easier to do business without the mafia sticking its nose into everything. But they still got a long way to go.
Nothing like crowning dictator man of the year to really get the holiday spirit going. Ex-KGB, Mafia affiliated, kills journalists, imprisons business owners and seizes their businesses... Awesome work, Time.
And what's with this soft light background thing in ever fucking photo I see anymore.
Remember, "Man of the Year" is not an award or some other great honor. It's merely an acknowledgment of a person who has had the greatest influence or effect on the world over the past year. Putin's actually a pretty good pick, considering what he's done in Russia.
Time once picked Hitler. They were right then, too.
