Wieden Offers Up Lame Duck (Not Lame) Nike Work

nike_just_tomorrow.jpg

It definitely sucks being a lame duck agency knowing you're doing work for a client that will soon (partially) be out the door. We're guessing that's the sentiment over at Weiden + Kennedy regarding this recent outdoor campaign for the brand's "No Excuses" Just Do It campaign. Lame duck sadness aside, we really like the simplicity of this campaign. It carries nicely the simplicity of the brand's key message, Just Do It.

We wish Wieden + Kennedy well in its (sort of) post-Nike days and look forward to seeing great running work from Crispin Porter + Bogusky.

Uhh...Wieden+Kennedy is still with Nike. Crispin+Bogusky just got the running account...temporarily.

Nike spreads work over quite a few agencies, so Weiden isn't going anywhere. Plus their main office is in Portland with Nike Worldwide HQ in Beaverton. Oh, and did you notice Nike Europe HQ is in the Netherlands along with main European Weiden office?

Hello? Did Crispin send this in right before the worst ad Nike has ever done aired? Their work for Nike so far has been so bad and so expensive that I am guessing the brains behind giving CPB the running work will soon be talking to a headhunter. Lame duck? That's irresponsible journalism, not to mention completely wrong.
