Puma Cages Its Fashion Beast

ZOO3m.jpg

Nothing like the literal translation of a phrase into an ad campaign but that's what Croatian ad agency Bruketa & Zinic did for the launch of Puma's Spring/Summer 2009 collection. To unveil the "fashion beast," Puma invited press to the Zagreb Zoo to witness the unveiling of Pumus trendycus.

Ooo...trendy, indeed!

The invited press were taken to the zoo, asked to sign a waiver stating they'd "approach the cage at their own risk. On a placard in front of the cage, which was draped in a red, Puma-logo'd sheet, the "beast: was described as "extremely soft, comfortable, adjusted for any weather conditions, while also being gentle and robust, and making any wearer appear sexy."

Hmm. Almost sounds like they were trying to encourage the wearing of fur.

Once the cage was unveiled, mannequins wearing Puma fashions stood aside a live model did some sort of performance., In a second cage, a Croatian singer performed a song.

Someone call PETA. There must be something wrong with all of this.
