Frito Lay: The Snackie of Choice for Tech Romantics

Feed Company sent us some online video magics for Frito-Lay, the good folks that bring you both Sun Chips and beef jerky. (They also own Cracker Jack. Now that's just impressive.)

Inspired, wethinks, by their own chip-and-dip combinations, the campaign premise is Made for Each Other. Each painfully adorable video features a piece of technology on that lonely and familiar quest for The One.

See "Socket" (song is Flanaca 16 by Melodium):

See "Magnet" (song, Two Hearts are Better Than One by Katie Herzig):

More appear on Frito's YouTube page, but the two shown above have garnered a little over 250,000 in total over the last 9 days. Not bad for a condiment brand whose suite includes Quaker.

Also, do check out the website linked above. The animation is beautiful, a sort of modern-day Alice in Wonderland; more importantly, it has this really nifty scrolling feature (you have to click and drag, like with a PDF). Pair lonely hearts up for little prizes -- we highly recommend the puzzle fish, because there's this musical keyboard game that kicked a lot of ass for all of two minutes.

Interesting if worthless trivia: a cursory Google search for "made for each other" reveals Frito Lay's campaign site is already the sixth organic search from the top. We just can't believe that URL wasn't taken before.

I love the site, because it invites you to just play around and see what you can find. (More time interacting w/ the brand = win, right?) Everything has a very cute and clever feel to it, and it gets the tag line across in a simple way that doesn't force itself upon you.

Yeah, I really liked it too. Could've stayed on a few minutes longer, just clicking all over the place, but I had to move along to some lesser thing.

The world is heavy on the shoulders of Adrants.
