Samsung Says Your Band Is Not Really A Band

If you're a band, you might not actually be a band. Much like the is-this-real-or-is-this-computer-generated world of The Matrix, the band in these Beattie McGuinness Bungay-created Samsung Beat DJ commercials keep getting outside interference from...um...a giant finger.

Director Paul Hunter worked with Cut + Run's David Checel for the project. The two previously collaborated on an Orbit "Droppin' 35" video and Dr. Pepper/Dr. Dre.

"From the live action shoot featuring a man in a finger costume, to the complex edit needed to synch the CG finger's action with each music track, this project was infectious and bizarre in the best possible way," said Checel. "Paul and I worked together to find moments that strike a balance between the band being annoyed and enjoying the finger's antics. From an editor's standpoint, it doesn't get better than that."

We just hope a giant finger doesn't show up here at Adrants. It would truly suck if we hadn't really written 14,282 articles over the years and were just mere finger puppets doing the imaginary work of some uber wannabe ad critic from another dimension.
