Isn't story telling a key component of any good advertising effort? Yes, it's ultimately all about selling a product but if you can't keep your viewer at least mildly interested in the channel through which you are passing that sales message then what's the point of even trying?
We'd argue this new work from TBWA Madrid does a beautiful job at story telling and an admirable job at keeping the viewer interested in the storyline. Entitled "Writer," this :90 commercial tells the story of a writer and a boy who works at the MsDonald's she frequents. GIve it a watch and let us know if you think it's effective advertising.

Social discovery site and fourth largest social network, Badoo, is launching its first U.S. advertising campaign on April 26 as part of its official American launch. Entitled "I Want", the campaign kicks off with both offline and online elements.
Starting on April 26, Badoo will launch an outdoor advertising campaign in the New York area which will run until the end of May as well as a digital program that starts April 30. The campaign follows The Badoo Project which saw more than 1,000 New Yorkers receive a professional online profile picture.

One week after this year's Cannes Lions Festival, DDB Toronto's Daniel Bonder will be turning 29 and officially too old to attend the prestigious Young Lions Academy. Given that this was his last week in life to be "young", he created "The Fuck-It List" - his submission to enter the 2012 Academy. We'll see what the jury says

Red Tettemer + Partners and CP+B have created a campaign for Under Armour have created What's Beautiful, a social media contest that provides women with an online community designed to help them meet and exceed their physical goals through a series of training challenges. The three women who rise to the top of the challenge will receive a one year sponsorship deal with Under Armour.
After nine weeks, Under Armour will nominate 10 finalists based on the strength, drive, and determination highlighted in their stories and original content submissions to be featured on the What's Beautiful homepage and mobile app. Ultimately, three winners will be named - two by Under Armour selection and one by public vote.
A YouTube video from Blunty captured a potest a few days ago outside an Apple store in Sydney, Australia. A black bus with "Wak Up" written on the side pulled up and out poured a group of black-clad protesters with signs which read, "Wake Up." The protesters proceeded to stand in front of the Apple store and shout "wake up!"
