Chipotle has announced plans to launch "Farmed and Dangerous," a Chipotle original comedy series that they say will satirically explore the world of industrial agriculture in America. Produced by Chipotle and New York-based Piro, the initial four-episode season will be presented weekly on Hulu and Hulu Plus beginning Monday, Feb. 17, 2014. While the show intends to integrate Chipotle's values, we are told there will be no explicit Chipotle branding.
So FOX wants to "ban" the Scarlett Johansson SodaStream ad because Coke and Pepsi are mentioned? While Coke is denying it had anything to do with the decision and SodaStream CEO Daniel Birnbaum is pissed -- though is capitulating by removing mention of Coke and Pepsi -- the Humanaut-created ad should be banned for another reason. It sucks.
As has become the norm, by this Friday we will have seen about half of the ads that will air during the Super Bowl this Sunday. And as is always the norm, some suck and some are great.
One such great ad comes via Venables Bell & Partners for Audi. The ad, directed by biscuit filmworks' Noam Murro, has Super Bowl success written all over it. It's silly. It's over the top. It has a bleeding heart musician. It has undone sportscasters. And it has pets. But not just your every day pet. No sir. It has a Doberhuahua, a freakish combination of a Doberman and a Chihuahua which results in a scary looking dog with a gigantic head and a tiny body.
It's an age-old battle...uh. excuse me...relationship between agency account managers and agency creatives. It's a relationship that, at times, can be the best kind of relationship and, sadly, at other times, can be the most disastrous.
Of course, no account manager or creative truly wants the relationship to be disastrous (unless they are one of those sadistic types who gleefully revel in the face of manufactured conflict), but all too often the relationship between account management and creative breaks down.
In this two-part series for Central Desktop, I'm taking a look at this relationship by reaching out to those on the front lines. This first part will focus on what account managers want and need from their creative department. Next week, part two will examine what creatives want and need from their account managers.
Let's dive in...
Well this is lame. So Dannon has released its Super Bowl ad for this year and its a big let down. The teaser, which the brand released last week, delivered much more of a giggle with the camera panning to Bob Saget and Dave Coulier after Stamos finishes watching the game...and eating his Dannon Oikos yogurt.
