Under the tagline "Never let their toys die," Energizer UK depicts kids in various states of, uh, toyless engagement. The campaign won top accolades in Press Advertising at the Cannes International Ad Festival.
See the work (helpfully labeled by ME!):
o Merry-Go-Hostage
o Pretty Pretty Puppy
o Not Quite Rain
Put together by DDB/South Africa to support Energizer's "longest-lasting battery" position. Awesome stuff. What'd you guys do, spend a week at the primary school?
What do you do when you find yourself in a room full of the people that imagineered your childhood?
You lose all social poise and most of your moxie -- not on purpose, but inevitably.
That's what it felt like during last night's press debut for The Real Men & Women of Madison Avenue and Their Impact on American Culture. As I walked across the floor, treading over familiar phrases like "Got milk?" with Ed McCabe! and Judy Wald! at either elbow, I fell back (hard) on responses like, "Awesome!" and "Woooow!" and "Ha-ha-HA!" -- sometimes even before they could finish a sentence.

Come on. You know you can remember it. You were in high school and your boyfriend or girlfriend was on the way over to visit and the anticipation was killing you. Killing you! Your heart was pounding. Chills were running through your body from head to toe. You couldn't wait to see her/him when you opened the door. And when you did, a gush of warmth filled your body and you smiled a big smile. And then...you couldn't wait to tell your mother you were "just going down to the basement to watch some TV" so you could....go down the basement, each tear your clothes off the other and embrace with an urgency words can never describe.

Matt Harding, the guy who quit his job in Australia and, after hooking up with Stride gum, traveled the globe to film himself dancing in 39 countries (courtesy of Stride), has recently completed a second journey. This time, Matt visited 42 countries over a 14 month period and, in addition to filming himself dance, filmed the people of each country dancing along with him.
The result is an amazingly feel-good video that, in a small way, brings the people of the world closer together. I dare you to watch it without feeling at least the tiniest bit of hope that, someday, every human being on this planet can live in peace together.
Kudos to Stride.
Highlighting the fact 500,000 girls are sold into the sex trade each year, this Amnesty International commercial likens the process to a cattle auction. Not a pleasant scenario for a teenage girl whose hopes and dreams for life are anything but to become an enslaved receptacle for man's seemingly uncontrollable desire for sex.
Hot girl-on-girl arm-wrestling action preaches the gospel of First Premier Bank. Link takes users to where you, yes you, can contribute to the credit crisis.
Back in January, after viewing a crop of really weird McDonald's commercial from DDB Stockholm, I wrote, "OMFG! WTF? We don't know what drugs they use over in Sweden but, damn, we want some now! Or at least we want to know what goes on inside the minds of DDB Stockholm Copywriter Magnus Jacobsson and Art Director Frederik Simonsson who created these three off-the-charts whacked ads for McDonald's."

Oh my. These ads for the Sci Fi channel make me want to adopt a sweet little potbellied alien. And name it Oliver. And maybe homeschool it.
The tagline: "Open your heart to science fiction. Adopt Sci Fi." Agency: BETC EURO RSCG 4D (thanks, in:fluencia!).
See the short version, but it's the long one that made me the suffer the angst of shedding genre prejudice. Anime overload, here I come.
Having teased us for weeks with videos and imagery, Sony has finally launched "Foam City," a spot for a line of camcorders and cameras, not the Bravia TVs like we originally thought.
Beautiful work. The music gives it a dreamlike quality, and people are depicted playing in the white menagerie while immortalizing the occasion with cameras.

With a link like slinkyfoxvideo.com and a red lingerie-clad, girl-next-door hottie like the one in this video, viewership is almost guaranteed. Here at Adrants, we've seen a lot of videos used to promote all sorts of things. A lot of them. Most of them terrible. This, though, is one of the best. One could argue it's just another trashy sex-sells piece of crap but one would be wrong. The content of the video is directly related to what's pitched at the end of the video and it's wonderfully done.
