Kate Upton to Play 'Object of Desire' in Mercedes-Benz Super Bowl Ad

Kate-upton01.jpg

In a role that is quite apropos, model of the moment, Kate Upton, will appear in a Mercerdes-Benz Super Bowl commercial as an "object of desire." Upton, who does not have a license of her own, won't be driving in the ad but is said to represent just how far a person might go to attain their heart's desire.

Heart's desire might be a bit of a highbrow description for the kind of desire most people experience when they think of Upton but we won't quibble.

cartier_holiday_tree.png

Let's not dwell on the fact little in this Cartier Winter Tale makes sense. No, let's dwell on the mood it evokes. The holiday feeling it exudes. The cheerful inspiration in brings. And how it makes you feel like you were curled up in a blanket in front of a roaring fireplace watching your favorite Christmas movie while sipping a cup of hot chocolate.

Yes. Let's dwell on that for a moment. And with that, we think it's time to close up shop and celebrate Thanksgiving.

quantcast_rtb.png

If you haven't heard of real time bidding, or RTB, you need to. First, let us explain. When a user heads to a webpage and it starts loading, the siite automaticallly sends out a bid request to tens of hundreds of potential advertisers (on an RTB network) saying, "We've got this user who is 30, Indian, male and based in New Jersey, US, and recently searched for return air tickets to Delhi, opening a page on our site. How much are you willing to bid for being the only ad on this page?" Within about 100 milliseconds the publisher gets automated bids from different advertisers which are then analyzed to figure out the highest bidder and the brands being advertised. The winner is automatically alerted by the publisher site and the ad is published. Nifty, huh?
