The Gift for the Copywriter Who Has Everything. Except a Hobby.

multilingual-skateboard.jpg

This cool minimalist skateboard design, with "Hello" printed on it in nine or ten languages (if you're counting "Hallo"), is the fruit of a collabo between California skate label Buddy Carr and New York-based typography designer Antonio Carusone.

Top of board is black with "Hello" in white; wheels are printed too. More photos at Fubiz.

There are currently only 100 boards for sale at the not-bad rate of $160 apiece, so we strongly suggest dropping that cash like its hot. Hat-tip to @pakkoidea.

- in:fluencia, a French ad/media/trends rag that used to send us awesome overseas campaigns (1, 2, 3), returns from a long hiatus with a snappy redesign. Even if you can't read French, the thumbnails alone are click-candy.

Custom Kicks Share Carbon Footprint Stories

cckids-thumb.jpg

There's this cute little "climate change art group" called The Canary Project, which in turn is working on something called Green Patriot Posters, which looks to me like kids marketing climate change awareness in various ways.

Look: they have billboards! And adorable little tennis shoes!

The cute custom sneaks are the work of students at McCormack Middle School in MA, which were encouraged to express their knowledge of their carbon footprints on a pair each. The sneakers now appear in associated billboards along with the tagline: "The Kids at McCormack School know their CARBON FOOTPRINT. What about YOU?"

Peruse more earnest little posters, or make your own, at the website.

Danger Mouse Charges Ridic CD Rate; Shouts 'Pirate Away!'

dangermouse-blank-cd.jpg

Piracy's looking pretty good these days, and a handful of popular artists have done what they can to demonstrate they don't support the act of suing music fans that also happen to be flagrant file-sharers.

Radiohead gave away In Rainbows online in '07 on a pay-as-you-wish basis, followed by Saul Williams, whose Rise and Fall of Niggy Tardust gave you the option of paying a $5 support donation. Just recently, Del the Funky Homosapien opted to give Funk Man out at no charge, jokingly dubbing it his "stimulus package."

Threadless Plugs Twitter Tees with TweetPR

huge-on-twitter.jpg

Threadless is developing a crowdsourced line of tees with statements from Twitter. Users can enter any tweet for inclusion; the best tweets are voted on by the community and ultimately turned into shirts.

More exciting than the crowdsourced chest manifestos, however, was the PR, which Threadless decided to limit to 140 characters:

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) May 19, 2009 -- @Threadless to crowdsource #TwitterTees. @Biz says "Awesome!" http://thrdl.es/~/R

Isn't that the most beautiful pressie you've ever seen?!!

How best to commemorate the trendiest American icon today? With another American icon: the Chia pet.

"Your Chia Obama is a symbol of liberty. Opportunity. Prosperity. Hope."

New Coke Cans Celebrate Summertime

coke-sunglasses.jpg

Coca-Cola kicks off barbeque season with a set of fresh and festive Coke cans. Each is red with the silver silhouette of something summery -- sunglasses, a grill, a beach ball -- and the logo, either peeking out of the image or interacting with it some other way.

The one at left looks kind of like Diet Coke masquerading as Coca-Cola Classic. (We'll leave you to make the aspartame-laced-wolf-in-sheep's-clothing jokes.) But this is infinitely less gauche than the limited-edition Ramadan cans.

- French agency Pourquoi tu cours (trans: "Why are you running?") is selling itself -- and its services -- via eBay and Facebook. The founder claims bids have exceeded 2,010 euros.

- Following fast in the footsteps of Volvo and Land Rover, Universal Studios will start incorporating live tweets in its rich media ads for certain films. Expect to see them in late June.

Ska Brewing Introduces Rotgutzen, A Beer For Babies

rotgutzen.JPG

Yes, you read that right. Beer for babies. "Hand-crafted by robots, every can comes with the promise that you won't be able to tell the difference between it and the one before it.With no measurable taste of distinct flavor, you can enjoy Rotgutzen without ever wondering if it tastes 'good' or 'bad' or even 'OK.'"

Specially formulated to helps kids transition from womb to barroom, the benefits are numerous for the little ones: lower alcohol content to teach responsible drinking, small bottles for small hands, great for teething, mixes great with processed mush, scientifically proven sleep aid, better for babies than whiskey and helps delay angry teen years.

What's not to love?

Oh, and yea, if you haven't already figured it out, the whole things an interesting Red Tettemer-created anti-campaign for Ska Brewing...which makes actual real beer for grownups. And which has an actual, real website.
