canon_the_kiss.jpg

You can barely recognize him but Abercrombie & Fitch Model/Dancing with the Stars
Contestant Albert Reed appears in a new commercial called The Kiss for Canon. It's touting the brand's new EOS 5D Mark II camera.

Produced by LA-based Anonymous, the commercial was directed by Andrew Douglas whose shining achievements include Amityville Horror. You can see the spot here as well as listen to Douglas talk about the camera which, of course, he used to shoot the commercial.

Morgan Freeman (We Think) Voices New Visa Commercial

never_missed_a_super_bowl.jpg

Hmm. Maybe Morgan Freeman just forgot he voiced that political spot. After all, he voices practically every commercial out there lately including this one from TBWA\Chiat\Day for Visa called Never Missed A Super Bowl.

The spot highlights the Never Missed a Super Bowl Club, a group of people who haven't missed a Super Bowl in 44 years. The spot offers the chance for anyone to join the club by giving everyone who simply uses their Visa card a chance to go to every Super Bowl game for the rest of their life.

Pepsi Can Do It Better Than Coke

pepsi_snoop_dog.jpg

In the continuing battle between the two zeros, Coke and Pepsi, the battling duo take their fight to the aisles of a BJ's-like club store. To the tune of Irvin Berlin's Anything You Can Do, the duo one up each other with ever more creative aisle displays.

Morgan Freeman Angered Over Claim He Voiced Political Ad

lawson_freeman.jpg

In the fourth district North Carolina congressional race, Republican candidate B.J. Lawson ran an ad his opponent, Democrat David Price, claims was voiced by Morgan Freeman. Freeman denies ever having voiced the spot telling the Huffington Post, "These people are lying. I have never recorded any campaign ads for B.J. Lawson and I do not support his candidacy. And, no one who represents me ever has ever authorized the use of my name, voice or any other likeness in support of Lawson or his candidacy."

If you listen to the spot, it does, indeed, sound like the Freeman we have all come to be familiar with. But if you listen closely, you'll soon realize it's not him. It's a very good impersonation but it's not Freeman.

But...stranger things have happened.

Two Go Daddy Girls to Titillate During Super Bowl

danica_patrick_jillian_michaels.jpg

Ever since busty Candice Michelle's tank top almost fell off in front of a "broadcast censorship committee" in a Super Bowl commercial several years ago, domain name registrar Go Daddy has milked it for all it's worth. With Go Daddy Girl after Go Daddy Girl, the brand has strictly adhered to the salaciousness sells approach to advertising.

From Vanessa Rousso to Ella Koon to Erin Kalin to Danica Patrick, to newcomer Jillian Michaels, Go Daddy isn't shy about serving up sex despite it being derided year after year for its crass approach to advertising.

Go Daddy CEO calls his approach to advertising GoDaddy-esque which he labels as "edgy, fun and slightly inappropriate."

In this year's Super Bowl broadcast, the company's 7th consecutive year, Go Daddy will air three commercials; two during the game and one in pre-game. Each of the commercials, produced in-house by Go Daddy productions, will feature both Danica Patrick and newcomer Jillian Michaels from Biggest Loser.

Christina Aguilera Fragrance Ad Dubbed Soft Porn

christina_aguilera_royal_desire.jpg

If the UK's Mail Online is calling the new Christina Aguilera fragrance commercial "soft-porn," they really ought to get out and surf the internet a bit more. Describing Aguilera in the ad as "showcasing her ample cleavage in a very low cut dress and writhing in a chair in ecstasy as she sprays the perfume across her chest," Mail Online thinks, "the singer's ad may be a bit too risque for her younger fans."

While Aguilera does reveal her ample assets in a low cut dress, her movement and demeanor are hardly anything close to soft porn. If so, porn has gone soft in its old age. She's hardly pushing the boundaries of decency as mail Online claims.
