Weblog Aids Ad Industry Katrina Victims

A weblog, called Displaced Designers, has been launched to aid creative industry individuals in the New Orleans area who have been displaced by hurricane Katrine and are in need of assistance. The blog appeals to those individuals and companies that can provide office space, living space, computers, other business resources and jobs to those who have been affected by Katrina. A valiant effort, indeed.

Props to those companies helping out those caught in Katrina. I think by having companies lend a helping hand to restore businesses and the economy is a crucial step in getting people on their feet faster. An interesting side note also coming from the New Orleans paper The Times-Picayune, they refused to let the paper go unpublished even if it meant only being published online. Those reporters who kept reporting long after finding out their own houses and belongings were destroyed deserve public recognition for serving journalism far and beyond their call of duty. Our thoughts are prayers are with them all.
