The King Puts On A Show, Offers His Meat

king_peep.jpg

Advertising For Peanuts points us to yet another creepy Burger King commercial in which the King convinces is to sample his meat in a not so G rated manner. Crispin, if they are behind this as this is a UK spot, has truly taken the Burger King brand to new heights though we wonder if these height aren't moving them into the Hooters category of restaurant chain.

CP+B is in charge of BK Europe as well.

Nothing like associating your food with "special sauce" to promote appetite appeal. Ick...

Special sauce is McDonald's. I know... I'm a former BK alum. hahahaha

Your description of the commercial was 10 times better than the commercial itself. If only the king we're truly offering us his meat with a little chatter, it might've been funny. But this silly character just sits there with that stupid grin on his face. Lame. If Brooke Burke would've been in the spot at least it would've been worth my 30 seconds.

I was using "special sauce" as a euphemism... :)

I saw an ad for Jack in the Box last night and suddenly the Burger King guy seemed a lot similar, but a lot less witty. Of course Jack has been around, with his giant white head, for quite some time. I want more Jack in the Box! He rocks.

Burger King guy... not so much.

They should kill the King off. Or at least send'em off to fight the "burger wars". At least they'd be able to add some cool skits into the mix. Suicide burger bombers and video tapes of burgers held captive. Wanna get risky, strap a bomb vest on a cow and have'em run into the king's command center in a attempt to stop cow carnage due to BK's juicy flame broiled recipe.

Anyway, down with the King, he's played out.

John, I like it. How about he goes on a Burger "crusade" to reclaim the burger holy land (I'm thinknig Texas). Hey, what do you guys think the best King spot was?

Best King spot ever? Easy: None. The King sucked from Day One. While His Royal Heinous may have generated a small cult following, most people are repulsed by his ever-smiling countenance. And if you don't believe me, do a search on Google Groups sometime.

The King is a creepy freak.

This is what I want to see: Guy in the peep show booth pulls out a shotgun and goes Dick Cheney on the King when he trys to hand him the burger. Cut to a shot of the King with the burger splayed across his face...the patties cover his eyes. Peep Show guy mutters "I said no cheese - bitch". Fade to black, super of the logo and the tagline - Have it your way.

Does anyone remember the "secret sauce" Jack-in-the-box used to put on their burgers back in the 60's? I'm trying to win a bet. I think it was Jack in the box with the secret sauce. Anyone??? help??? I think my friend has McDonalds "special sauce" confused with the old JITB secret sauce - but I need confirmation.
Thanks
