Instead of Buying Gap Gear, Improve Your Vocab for Charity

free_rice.png

An ad-supported page called Free Rice, sent to us by Jamie from Virginia Tech, improves your vocabulary and donates 10 grains of rice to the hungry at the same time. Free Rice is the sister site of Poverty.

So far Adrants has managed to get 30 grains of rice donated. We would've had more by now, but who would have guessed "hardtack" meant "biscuit" and not "thug"? Come on.

And we're not even going to try guessing for "collywobbles."

Angela, Back to school with you! You young-uns obviously never had to learn the basics of language. Then again, we all know Steve can't spell. I got bored at level 42 and over 700 grains - and I have a degree in physics...

Come on, BW. I ultimately hit 200 or 300 grains before realizing it was 4 in the afternoon and I should get work done. And hey, didn't I pass my SATs? Well, didn't I???
