Adrants Adds Staff, Serves Up Social Media Savvy

emerson_bloggers.jpg

Adrants is pleased to announce the addition of a squad of writers who will join Angela and me to bring you more of what you've come to love. Five social media junkies who all met at Emerson College in Boston and now work/intern at Schneider Associates will contribute to Adrants on a semi-regular basis.

Each will bring their own flavor of editorial prowess to Adrants. Mostly, they'll focus on the proliferation of social media and what that means both to people who have embedded themselves within the increasing social aspects of online life and to marketers trying to reach this hyper-connected, digitally-distributed, socially-savvy crowd.

We hope you enjoy what they have to offer and the insight they bring. And oh yes, there will be humor and there will be fun. There will be Facebook breakups, misunderstood and embarrassing tweets, awkward Facebook Friending and ruminations from John, our 13-year-old "correspondent" who will keep us up to date on all things Club Penguin and other online activities for the teen and tween crowd.

But they won't be doing this solely on Adrants. You can also catch them on one of their blogs which has been relaunched as a group blog to focus on the many elements of "growing up digital." It's called Our American Shelf Life. Give it a read.

And over on Our American Shelf Life, you can read all about the crew: Amanda Mooney, Amy Yen, Will Wheeler, Sarah Hutton, Maria Garcia, Melissa Eddy and John. You can read about Pamela Seiple, who will also be part of the squad and a writer for Our American Shelf Life, over at her blog.

We hope you enjoy the added content and insight they will provide as you tread further into the ever changing world of social media and all media for that matter.

This is going to be so much fun. :) I think some really great content and analysis will come out of this, in addition to some really hysterical stories.

Steve, I am so excited about this. Thanks for inviting us to join your team! I hope we can live up to the level of genius we've come to expect from AdRants. :)

Steve...
Tell the fucking truth... How much are you paying them? Or is this "Work Experience?" and the chance to work on the second best (you know which is first!) Ad Blog in the world. If they come and work for me, I can get them naughty Oz T-Shirts for 50% off... I mean c'mon, is that a great fucking deal or what? Oh, and did you tell the girls they have to work topless?
Cheers/George

glad to join the team, thanks for the great opportunity!

Oh but George. I am paying them THOUSANDS! I am so rich I can afford to hire anyone I want and pay them whatever I want...even if I am only the second best ad blog out there:-)

New writers: meet George. He'll no doubt have witty comment on everything you write:-)

And yes, he does have a working topless rule ;)

Steve...
You are a true prince... I am sure they will now be set for life, both financially and professionally... I also couldn't help noticing you have one guy and eight girls!!! I shall have to poach Angela with the promise of Oz T-Shirts. Although I have a feeling that would only work if they had Prada and Gucci labels on them.
Cheers/George

George,

We are not a materialistic bunch. Although, now that we'll soon be rich, maybe we can afford to be ...

;o)

Pamela... And the rest of the gang... As Bernie Cornfeld (who?) once said "Do you sincerely want to be rich?" If so, you should all go on-line and buy a copy of "MadScam" from Amazon... Right now. This will be your guide to fame and fortune in the shark infested waters of the Ad Biz. It made Steve and Angela the industry icons they are today. I am, after all, a shameless "AdHo"

Hmmm ... sounds like a shameless plug to me, George.

Awesomeness.

What, still no creatives creatively commenting on the creative state of the creative?

Posted by: Edward on April 9, 2008 6:24 PM

With such pic, i thought AdRants had their own groupies ...
And as with any sleazy internship program, you had to mostly go for girls!

Great additions to the staff, that can only make AdRants better! And since you're pitching to several demographics, how about some boomers writing here also?

I guess George would almost qualify :)

Armando...
I think you meant "Geezers" didn't you?
Cheers/George

Sleazy internship program? What exactly is sleazy about having writers who want to write write? And, I didn't go just for girls They all came to me:-)

Posted by: Steve Hall on April 9, 2008 11:14 PM

@Armando We did:)

Posted by: Amanda Mooney on April 9, 2008 11:42 PM
