Hard Abs Go Soft, Bowflex Powers On

bowflex-revo-thumb.jpg

Earlier today I happened across this testosterone-tacular Bowflex Revolution pop-up.

I can't believe Bowflex is still around! There are so few women that would actually go for Mr. Oily Abs -- but the sight of a perennial Bowflex man turns any guy I'm with into a socially inept troglodyte.

My dad, once a self-proclaimed man of steel, used to watch Bowflex infomercials late at night and go, "When I'm old and retired, you will bring me that machine as a gift."

And because I was five and had no idea how dangerous a delusion could be, I would assent. He's still waiting for one.

As a teen, those late-night SoloFlex ads were about as close to gay porn as a Texas boy could find! It's nice to see that they're still providing eye candy to a new generation.

thx for the post. The late Art Jones threw the most amazing parties back in the late 80s! Besides inventing aslewofmachines he bred the biggestaligatorsand snakesI've everseen, anywhere. Bowflex is solidly in the top 200 brands advertising nationally with over $130,000,000 spent last year with an envialble mix of cross-platform ads. Hispanic Newspapers and Sunday Magazines are part of this mix today. Cable TV is used most frequently this year in conjuction with internet banners/pops on sites targeting males between 18-49.

Kudos to Collette at ID for an outstanding mix of media- - - four years in a row of increasing ad spends confirms the love.
