Cathay Pacific has teamed with the Hong Kong Rugby Sevens to hype the event at which teams from all over the world will compete at the Hong Kong Stadium March 27-29. The promotion aims to add some humor to how participating countries prepare for the event. And, yes, there's a consumer-generated effort where people can win tickets to next year's event. Here's how it works:

A video competition will urge people to submit a 15 to 30 -second video showing how they get ready for the Sevens. The top three videos will be shown on the big screen at the Hong Kong Stadium on the final day of the Sevens and best one will be selected with a cheer vote from the crowd of 40,000.The winner will receive 4 tickets to the Hong Kong Sevens in 2010 along with 4 Cathay Pacific air tickets. Anyone can submit a video but only those who live in Hong Kong, the UK, New Zealand and Dubai can win.

Throughout March, Cathay Pacific will post to it's blog stories related to Hong Kong and the Sevens. And yea, there's a Facebook page and a Twitter account to follow.
