Square Booty school Girls Shake Ass For BK Kids Meal

burger_king_square_butt.jpg

You like big butts? Or is it square butts? Yea, we can envision the exact moment this creative epiphany struck someone down in Miami at a place called Crispin Porter + Bogusky when they dreamt up this SpongeBob Square Pants, Sir Mix-a-Lot mashup up featuring bottylicious dancers shaking their (square) asses. (See the :30 here and the full length music video here.)

We can also envision a five year old walking by Burger King and asking, "Mommy, can we go to Burger King and get some square booty?"

And we can envision the looks mommy will get from passersby wondering just what's going on at home.

Seriously? WTF? Creepy King. Square-booty'd women in school uniforms shaking their ass in a classroom-like setting. Ass measuring. Ass touching.

It's like a porn director's wet dream. Not so much for parents with kids. Here come the cause groups.

I saw this at a bar last night. It was after ten and on with sports. So the media buy targets about as well as the message.

As strange as it is, for some reason I love it. Then again, I'm not a 9-year-old (although I do occasionally act like one).

I saw this ad for the first time last night with a few friends. We all thought it was very odd and poorly targeted. Mixing a kids' cartoon with dancing women doesn't seem to go well, nor does it have much to do with BK. Also the ad barely mentions the 99 cent kids' meals, which seems like the most important part of the ad.

Hey, RELAX! Booty is just BOOTY!
It's only a commercial, it's intention is not to influence, RIGHT?!

These images and the apparent connection they make between selling product and (very specifically) women's bodies aren't relevant or important RIGHT?!

Women are just booty and that should be OK. Who benefits from blurring the line between objectifying women and selling something to children?

Hey, I'm an american and my MO is that I just get me some meat for CHEAP RIGHT?! RELAX, that's ALL that matters, and that's exactly what we should tell our kids.

Let's all let the AD AGENCY (Crispin Porter + Bogusky) and BURGER KING know how much we love the funny little commercial and what a great job they did:
