Do Not Eat This If You Don't Want to Be A Doofus

If ever there were a commercial which made us not want to be associated in any way with the product being advertised, it would be this Clemenger BBDO-created commercial for Campbell's Chunky Fully Loaded soup.

Seriously. It's like a bunch of Darwin Award winners crossed with Evil Knievel wannabes in search of McGuyver.

Maybe, but I give it +10 for the use of the phrase "Fully loaded man's got balls of meat"

Wow. And I thought the ones with the slurping sounds were annoying.

You might be missing a bit of cultural relevancy here. Search YouTube for "Solo Man ad, Australia 1990" - its a pisstake on an old Australian softdrink ad.

Compliment for knowing the "cultural" comparison. But quite honestly, how many in the US are going to remember an Aussi ad from 1990 or even know it once existed? Perhaps "rip-off" is more accurate than "pisstake"?

E, the ad is actually running in Australia, not America (which I should have mentioned) so there's a greater liklihood the cultural reference, while lost on us Americans, will be understood by Australians, the ad's intended audience.
