Advertising Week Ends But Friends Never Do

So while Ad Week doesn't officially end until today, Friday, it felt like it ended Thursday. I didn't make it to the Facebook party but, instead, opted to have drinks and dinner with some friends. The first stop was Undercurrent marketing in SoHo where I met Julia Roy (who was just featured on Awesomeology) and Yianni Garcia.

Undercurrent is a young, small agency which specializes in online marketing and social media. We ended up somewhere in mid-town at a place which looked like it was right next to Wall Street. Everyone had a suit on and, if it were the eighties, could have been labeled Yuppies. Pictorial goodness here.

After drinks with Julia and Yianni, it was time to hang with the folks Adrants has partnered with to bring you the Mischief series of parties. At The Smith, I was joined by Fuel Industries' Sean MacPhedran, Oddcast's Emily Twomey, Interference's Sam Ewen along with Swivel Media's Erik Hauser, Oddcast's Annette Sroka and Eric from Akamai. Single-handedly, we solved all the industry's ills. Kidding. We just drank, ate and had a good time though I never realized Erik's glasses were so...green.

Emily, who's apparently a control freak (OK, kidding again) ordered dessert for the entire table and what arrived was a pleasant surprise. She ordered a pseudo birthday desert for me which had a candle and even a lollipop on top! Thank you very much Emily! It was yum.

After dinner, this sort of OMG Ad Week is Over! withdraw set in and none of us could muster the energy to head back uptown for he Facebook party. it was late and it would probobly have been over once we arrived. We all went our separate ways but I do hear Sean and Annette stayed out a bit later. hope you guys didn't cause too much trouble! Thanks for dinner, guys. More pictorial goodness here.

LOL I knew that energy drink vial had a destiny the moment I saw it there at the point of purchase display.
