Bud Light Reinvigorates Rock Throwing Tendencies

Bud Light's rock paper scissors ad - awesome. We're so glad they didn't rehash any previous running Super Bowl themes like their buddies at Pizza Hut.

We have every intention of throwing rocks in future r/p/s sparring matches with friends. And possibly scissors.

What is with the growing use of unsuccessful attempts at slapstick in tv spots? Why would a brand want to be associatied with acts of violence and pain? this crap doesn't come off as humorous slapstick because the characters don't have the kind of history the Stooges brought to the screen so it looks too real. It's absolutely mind boggling that a client approves a spot in which a "loser" lies flat on his back next to an oversized rock that likely caused permanent vision damage to the afflicted. It's just bad, short-term funny, 7th grade humor. Gee, is that Anheuser-Busch seeking a new, junior high market?

So I understand that throwing a rock at someone will beat paper, but in the actual rules of Rock Paper Scissors... Paper covers (beats) rock.

Did I miss something? It's still funny, but scissors may have been more appropriate.
