Agency's 'Mad Men'-Style Website Shows Love For Good 'Ol Days

red_tettmer_mad_men.jpg

Way to get publicity, Red Tettemer! The Philadelphia agency is showing its love for AMC's Mad Men - which premieres its second season this Sunday, July 27 at 10PM - by redesigning its website to look like the 60's-based TV show. Drinking! Smoking! Sexism! Adultery! Cone-shaped boobs! What's not to love? Oops...wrong decade. Sorry about that.

Smart. Really, really smart.

It would've been clever if the show didn't exist and they did it on their own accord. This feels a little sad and I'd be wary of their "original ideas" for campaigns. Especially when their cues are coming from second season cable series.

Homepage aside, this could quite possibly be the worst agency site I've ever seen.

Bill ...

Agreed. If you are going to go there, lez add some motion to this baby — video, people. And don't forget the ass grabbing and "closed door meetings."

I am curious as to how old the person is who made this decision... This would be like a talent agency or production company redoing their website to make it look like they were in Entourage.... Or if a comedy troope redid their website to make it look like they were all cast members of Studio 60...
Once you actually start thinking about it you start to realize the lameness of what they actually did. I'm shocked they can sell their creativity to clients.

Hey Anon: We reshoot our homepage monthly. Sometimes the shot reflects a client or a new campaign we created, other times it's tied to pop culture. It's just something we squeeze in for fun and to mix things up.

Bill: We have a number of video easter eggs in the site. I reco "little does big" http://www.redtettemer.com/littledoesbig/

Edward: Great point on the ass grabbing and closed door meetings. I'll share your feedback with the team. I think the topic of the ass grab did come up, but you know, it never gets old.
