It's Not A Miller Lite Ad But It Could Be

miller_not_ad.jpg

It's not a Miller Light ad but it might be a good one if it weren't for that damn Bud Lite banner in the background. Oh, and the crappy resolution, the overtly overused sexual overtone and the boobs. Beer ads should never have boobs is them. After all, that takes the attention away from the beer, right?

Those CP+B guys are at it again. Seeding pubs with attractive models, which are hired to dance on bars late at night while standing in front of Miller Lite signage. Kudos, Crispin for such a stealthy and ingenious use of the camera phone and consumer created content. Soon flickr and other such place (along with voyeur upskirt adult sites) will be filled with free ads for Miller Lite thanks to a simple and discreet hijack of the bar experience.

I don't get this. This isn't an ad. It's a flickr photo of a girl with boobs - there just happens to be a beer sign behind her. What the heck has this got to do with advertising? Why are you guys so obsessed with tits? I love this blog, but sometimes I say to myself, I wish these guys would make themselves a little more credible. Some of the intelligent criticisms you have would carry more weight. Bemoaning the sex-slathered state of advertising and then posting this reminds me of the fable "The Emperors New Clothes". It's hard to point fingers when you're too busy wiping drool from your chin.

We like to insure that we cover all the angles of this business, Sparo, and beside, as Joe pointed out, it could be a CP+B promotion:-) We wouldn't want to have something like that happen and not report it. That would be slacking in our efforts to give you a complete picture of the ad industry, right?
