Even More Time Wasted Critiquing Dumb Commercials

So we do a lot of ad critique around here at Adrants. Sometimes it's worthy, other times it's the digital equivalent of a newspaper used for dog defecation. In what has to be the most ridiculous critique of a ridiculous ad EVAR, MSNBC Ads of the Weird takes on a Dr. Scholl's ad featuring America's Next Top Model Runner Up Yaya DaCosta who dances on a desk and then jumps into a pair of shoes which, naturally, have Dr. Scholl's inserts.

In what has become my favorite phrase of the week, "It's just a fucking ad!", this MSNBC Ads of the Weird critique is yet another giant WTF. I watched the ad before reading the MSNBC piece and I was like what? Huh? What's wrong with this ad? It's not great but it's hardly worth attention. I better read to find out. Jesus. I thought I was the King of Making Something out of Nothing but after reading the MSNBC piece, I officially hand the reigns over to MSNBC Ads of the Weird for truly trumping anyone who has ever tried to elevate the mundane to the salacious and spectacular.

Actually, your own Angela Natividad critiqued this commercial a few weeks ago (she spotted it on my blog). She did a much better job than MSNBC. But hey, everyone’s a critic—whether they’re qualified or not.
