AD Posts Donny Deutsch Speedo Pics, Gets Fired

donny_bathing_suit_pic_2.jpg

Sadly, we're behind on this one but AdFreak brings us up to date informing us ten year veteran Deutsch art director Jeison Rodriguez was fired last week a few months ago for sending out, via email, pictures of Donnie Donny Deutsch, wearing a Speedo and sporting a Mullet, he found on company servers. While Rodriguez meant it as a joke, Donny did not see it that way. Perhaps he's just in a bad mood over his agency's recent hemmoraging of clients.

it sux when anyone is fired, but i dont understand the controversey. the AD, a ten year vet (which people write like its in his favor but actually smacks of "he shoulda known"), searches the servers, finds embarrassing pictures of the ceo, and then sends them out to other agencies -- from his deutsch email! maybe some people wouldn't have fired him, its on the harsh end... but he'd be up shits creek at any company. promotion time endeth with that -- people get canned for bad judgement all the time in a client service biz. and im pretty sure had this happened at say bbdo and it was a picture of lubars, the AD would be as good as gone too. however... thats a funny shot. use the damn anon yahoo account, like you do for your porn!

Fired is too harsh for someone who obviously has company loyalty. Why would you toss a talent asset like that without trying to counsel them and correct the offending behaviour first? I think there must be more to this than just a joke email.

Donnie looks like utter shit in that pic, maybe it's just a case of a knee-jerk reaction by a bruised ego.

Yes, a 10-year vet should have known better - unless he COMPLETELY misread his relationship to his boss and his boss's sense of humour - which it sounds like he did. At least this has ended well with Rodriguez getting a new gig and all.

Ha! That's awesome... my impression of DD is that he's an ego-maniac and this confirms it. Nice tan lines - sexy.

As if Donnie's ego wasn't enough to give me nightmares, now I have to have this image burned into my brain as well. Thank you.

Holy codfish - or should I say codpiece? I haven't seen a display of such unbridled masculinity since Bea Arthur. There's an image you definitely don't want burned into your retinas.

Still, it's hard to work up much sympathy for the art director. Incredibly bad judgement to say the least. And like Donny or not, he deserves his privacy.

Of course, contemporary culture being what it is today, the transgressor winds up with a better gig. Only in America.

I agree with Sergio...what's the controversy? A 10-year vet of the agency delves into the company email servers, finds something that is mildly amusing and then uses his company email account to poke fun at the Boss? The AD may be talented, but he was obviously sick the day they taught common sense in J school!

Yes, Donny may be an egomaniac, but he built Deutsch into the Powerhouse it is today. As for the clients that have left Deutsch? Client turnover is common in the ad game - it all depends on the agency's talent. You can't please all the people all of the time!

There is no denying that Donny is brash, vane and a bit of a showman [with an ego the size of Manhattan]. As such, he makes himself an easy target. Despite all of this, I like Donny…I always have. He boldly states his opinions (no matter how unpopular) and offers no apologies for those who disagree him (half the planet). I find his forthright personality to be rather refreshing. Better still, what you see is what you get!

You would think that with his money he could have at least visited a tanning parlor to even up his tan line before he got into the Speedos. Otherwise, really not at all bad.

By the way, Who's that Donny Deutsch?

Well. I am joking, but only a little.

I had never heard about that man before two days ago when I saw him at "the Apprentice".

Then I thought he was the chairman of Dove.

But today I lern that he is the chairman of an advetizing company.

You learn something new every day.

Well... I always thought everyone in the industry ( as well as those of us who happen on his horrible and trite TV show) should be reminded as often as is feasible of when DD was a chubby guy in jeans and cowboy boots, just so full of himself. I think this is as funny as all hell.

That AD must still wake up laughing once in a while.
