Adidas Adicolor Goes Pink

adicolor_pink.jpg

Here's another one of those weird, non-sensical, pointless Adidas adicolor videos. This time, it's all about pink. The room is pink. The bear is pink. The girl is cute so whatever.

Much femininity on display here.

One of my female friends watched this and said "Where can I get the pus*y shoes?"

This trend of commercials made for their own sake is interesting, but the ad could have been for Swatch or Diesel or any brand. When I finished watching the ad and typed adicolor.com into my browser, I got a web site for interior design finishes. All that money spent on a commercial, and adidas is helping to promote a company that has nothing to do with shoes. God bless industry, seriously.

The adicolor stuff is not for the masses. It is a special cult group of designers, etc. who cherish this stuff. These 'ads' are not so much ads as artisitic films done by different 'uber-coll' production companies to promote the relaunch of the adicolor series to these "Sneaker Freakers".

Us common folk are not 'supposed' to get it.

Aren't those movies the way to get everyone talking and simply spreading the news, so everyone knows, watches, wonders, analyse - talk about Adidas. That's the point I guess. By the way, pink is a beautiful short movie, even though it can seem pointless.

Charlie White directed "Pink." He's mainly known for his music videos (for Interpol, etc.).

The girl might have started out cute but it went downhill from there. Creepiest commercial I've ever seen!

I feel a bit bothered that people think this couldn't sell Adidas. I don't really like them because they're kinda lame, but an image sell is all you need for shoes. Come on, is there really anything beyond image that sells clothing? These shoes are the same as Nike, Puma, and for that matter, Walmart brand. All they've got is cool and design. You make it cool, and it sells.

This film is brilliant. A far cry better and tons more effective that 99.9% of the drivel that infests TV in the from of spot adv. As a former adviser to adidas, I for one champion the creation of narrowly targeted entertaining content. In fact adidas originals, of whick aidcolour is a part - have the sense not to wate money on TV advertising.

As for the dude that said this could have been for swatch etc........$£*^&%$%%£
