While this one isn't as blatant, another fast food marketers seems to want people to fornicate with its products. First, McDonald's ran a banner campaign with the headline "I'd Hit it." Now, Andrew Teman points to a Wendy's ad for its Chicken Sandwich which contains the headline "Do a Spicy Chicken Sandwich. Now, we all know there's an association between food and sex but we're not quite sure fast food falls into the category of mood-altering quisine.

Actually, studies have shown that processed sugars and fats do in fact have behavioral-changing effects. But Wendy's positioned their food as more of a recreational drug than a "partner" -- which isn't that far off, when you consider the audience ads like this are aimed at: young adults who don't care if they know better than to eat processed foodstuffs, and who are also the most likely audience to be eating cheap, processed food because they've spent a significant portion of their expendable cash on illegal drugs, alcohol and cigarettes.

The real debate is whether you can realistically call fast food "cuisine" or not. I'm inclined to consider it quintessential American cuisine, but -- duh -- maybe I'm a little biased.
