Burt Reynolds Gets Naked Again! Send Him A Body Groomer!

burt_reynolds_directv.jpg

Back in the dark ages of the seventies when women thought men with tons of body hair were sexy, the very hairy Burt Reynolds graced the pages of Cosmopolitan with his famed centerfold pose. If only Philips' Shave Everywhere could have been on the scene. My how times and styles have changed. Today, men and women can't seem to get enough hair off their bodies. In the seventies, hair ruled.

Acknowledging hair length and style never stops changing, perhaps DIRECTV thinks it's ahead of the curve here and we should expect some sort of Shave Everywhere backlash with chest and pubic hair making a rampant return after having been tamed for so long. Or, perhaps, as the "Everything should be seen in DERECTV HD. Well not everything" headline indicates, the satellite company just wants to grossly counteract the usual satisfaction one feels when paging through the annual Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue in which this Burt Reynolds ad appears.

This hairy seventies freak show comes to us courtesy of Deutsch LA.

I'm not a fan of staches. And the whole bear rug is terrible. But other than that, I have to admit that I prefer men that have a more natural look like this. I'm a 24 year old female. (so I'm not from the 70's era :) I find it unattractive when men are totally waxed. Not to mention I would find it intimidating and weird if my man shaved/waxed as much as I did. That would seem like a bit weird.

A little trim here and there is fine if not preferrable, but a man totally free of body hair just looks a little strange to me.

That direct tv ad is just rude & forcing even more thoughts of "What were SUPPOSED to look like" into more heads.

But that's just my opinion.

Freaks! Too right. I don't think anyone, man or woman, should leave their body as it comes, it's just so gross and ugly - let's face it, none of us look that great and we could all do with a little help. And why should men getting rid of all their hair be seen as 'a bit weird'? I mean, women have hair under their arms, down below and on top so if they get rid of their underarm and 'bikini' hair to look better why shouldn't a man do the same eh? I'm all for equality. And if men shave their heads then why not women, otherwise it all gets a bit lopsided don't ya think.

The 70s WAS disgusting when all those guys were so hairy so I say let's get the men down that body waxing clinic pronto. Besides, it all keeps the beauty industry in the money. It's the economy, stupid!
