Manisms and Hot Women Sell Milwaukee's Best

finely_tuned_women.jpg

MediaPost's Amy Corr has gathered together a few recent campaign launches in her Out to Launch column, one of which proves beer marketers haven't left scantily clad women as seducers...uh...sellers of its products. A new campaign for Milwaukee's Best (yes, they do need all the help they can get) has launched on TV, print, an on the web with the tagline, "Brewed for a Man's Taste." Taste in what, you ask. Taste in "finely tuned" woman apparently. The website has all the usual male stupidity such as an ogling game in which a man must avert his eyes from his best friend's girlfriend's cleavage but if that's not possible, the site also provides wallpaper and downloads of finely Photoshopped models to ogle on the privacy one's own computer screen.

While the site reinforces man's neaderthal tendencies, the commercials, which feature proverbially manly men acting proverbially unmanly, are actually quite funny and not far from reality.

"Brewed for a Man's tastes" must be the explanation for the lentl soup-like shits in the toilet the next day.

It's about time. With all the exaggerated ads portraying men as incompetent, stupid, inadaquate and always on the short end of the female stick, not only as a gender but as fathers as well, it's refreshing to see the inverse treatment being shown.

Just like the answer given when we complain when a male gets kicked in the groin for laughs, the same should be said here. Lighten up, it's all in fun.

Not only are those females whining about the use of scantily-clad women to sell beer living a double-standard, as Steve points out.........

..... they are likely the "fugly" types who go through life with a chip on their shoulders at the lack of attention from males.

When these same female geniuses start clamoring for ads that do NOT portray men as hapless, stupid, or ineffective males and fathers, perhaps I will start paying attention to their complaints.

Most men see attractive women as sexual objects, pure and simple..... and if some of the more "fugly" women dislike that concept, tough luck.

After all, most women see men as financial objects..... and some men dislike THAT particular concept.

Milwaukee's Best Light AD - I am 73 years young and I have been guilty of all of the above in the ads. I WILL per cute dogs, I WILL blot standing grease off pizza. And so on. This ad is nothing but trash.
