Crispin Cutie Katie Kicks Podcast Butt

KKempner.jpg

While we think we had already heard Crispin Porter + Bogusky VP of Agency Communications cutie Katie Kempner had launched a weekly podcast called The Hook back in December, It's All Advertising mentioned it to us today so we checked it out for a bit. We like. Each week Katie interviews various advertising luminaries from fellow CP+B people to advertising journalists to brand marketing directors to ad agency professionals. She does a nice job pulling together a cohesive broadcast/podcast, speaks from experience and interacts well with guests but, while it might be easier from a production perspective, we wonder why she's doing it with web broadcaster Web Master Radio which has hideous promos and awful commercial rather than just pumping out a nice podcast directly from Miami. Oh well. We still like it.

I don't know what's more galling, Steve: your continued ass-kissing of Crispin or referring to a professional businesswoman as a "cutie." What year are you living in? 1957?

For fuck's sake, Crispin's in the news everywhere else and no one complains. Why the complaint here? I like the podcast so I'm gonna say so. Don't like it? Leave. But I see you can't. You are a continual commenter with often nothing of value to add and you don't even have the balls/breasts to live outside your world of anonymity.

Also, ff you've read this site long enough, and apparently you have, you know I dish out equally "galling" commentary about men. However, in this case, I don't see this as galling. I see this as complimentary. She is cute so I said so. Our world is ruled by political correctness and it sucks. Just call me Neil French :-)

It's not like Steve Hall is just commenting out of the blue about the agency, let's not forget that they were agency of the year 4 of the last 6 years.

And so what if he says she's a cutie? They don't work together. What's it to you?

Did you get turned down by CP+B (or Katie)?

Ooooh, snap!

The truth hurts, doesn't it, Steve? Sorry you can't handle a little criticism.

TomTom, I'm not sure what you're on about. I simply thought it was a trifle degrading of Steve to refer to a businesswoman as a "cutie." Seems a tad unprofessional to me, that's all.

Anyway, since I have nothing to contribute, I shall never darken your doorway again. Peace out.

Who's Crispin?

Who's Crispin?

You're kidding me, right Satan? For the love of God, look at the fucking publicity shot. When was the last time you saw a "businesswoman" who gave a rat's ass about being called a cutie straddle an office chair with a playful smile. She IS a businesswoman, she is ALSO a cutie. Lighten up.

Steve does not always kiss CP+B's ass. Not everything they touch is gold and everyone knows it, but they do do a TON of good stuff, so let it go. Go be bitter someplace else. And speaking of unprofessional, I can't remember the last time I heard somebody use the phrase "oooooh, snap" in a business meeting.

For the record, she's just ok.

Only thing I don’t like on the podcast is that it sounds like they used a cheap cellphone to record the whole thing. Otherwise, the content is solid.

Hey Neil, I mean Steve, looks like NJ heard you on the anon comments.

;-p

The real issue here is do we really need another forum for ad professionals to jerk off to their own ideas?

Posted by: BK King on March 7, 2006 2:40 PM

she's fat

Webmaster Radio makes me want to puke... the audio quality on this show is deplorable, because they're phoning it in instead of using a microphone.

The worst part is... Katie doesn't need Webmaster Radio to help her do this. Go out and spend $100 getting your podcast set up and do it yourself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Exactly my point, John. Well said.

All they have to do is take one of the iPods they all got for Christmas and throw an iTalk mic on top, mix it in Garage Band and they’re good to go.

I think the show is smokin'. And from the pic on ADRANTS it is clear to this industry entrepreneur that she is quite the cutie. The Hook show is totally current, on topic and each week brings an interesting angle through leading industry guests. Seems to me Katie has found an awesome way to stir up our industry, bring some new insights and have a great time doing it. If we pay attention we might actually learn something. Cutie Katie Kicks Podcast Butt; the title says it all. Keep the buzz on Cutie Katie there are a lot of us out here listening, learning and enjoying the show right along with you.
