Animal Death Celebrated in Crossbow Campaign

horton_cossbow.jpg

Leaving all political correctness to cause groups with nothing to do but bitch about every possible human activity and opinion, this new campaign from Cleveland agency Brokaw for Horton Crossbow, refreshingly, minces no words selling its article of death. With witty slaps in the face like "Hunters really aren't so different from other environmentalists. We just like to keep souvenirs" and "Sometimes the best way to clear your head is to bring one back to mount on the wall," the campaign isn't likely to be well-loved by PETA, the Humane Society or the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. We do, however, think Charlton Heston would get a kick out of it.

See the whole campaign here.

Here's another copy idea:

"The next best thing to having a big penis."

"Modern hunters really aren't so different from early hunter gatherers...except that they need thousands of dollars worth of gear to make them feel like real men."

"Chewbacca's crossbow shot lasers instead of little arrow thingy's and he had less hair than your average hunting redneck."

Nice work copywriter. While the only thing I shoot is George Dickell, I love these lines. Reminds me of French, Mccabe and Devito.

Ironically, hunters are probably the most humane, most environment and animal-friendly people out there, assuming they eat what they kill.

I've never understood the special amount of anger reserved for them by PETA and the likes, instead of us "meat comes in a package wrapped in cellophane" types. We're way worse.

As a recent environmental studies graduate, I am deeply offended that this ad would lump hunters in with environmentalists. Destroying nature is not protecting it. This isn't rocket science.

Hunters are not environmentalists. Destroying nature is not protecting the environment. As an environmental studies student, I definately do not want to be lumped into the same category as hunters.

Hunters are still accepted in most parts of the country and I don't really disagree with it unless they don't eat what they choose to kill. That is just like being a child who burns insects for fun. But as someone who used to live in South Dakota - when you enter the state through any major road there is a billboard that states something along the lines of "In this state we make a living off of ranching and hunting - if you don't like it you can leave." At least they are up front about it...

If I'm not mistaken, the Sierra Club was started by hunters.

Eating what you kill is the only way one can successfully be both. Being a hunter, and no I'm not one, does not destroy the environment. Razing forests to graze cattle does.

Sorry WMUboy, I ain't buying.

I'll start off by saying I am not a hunter, but living in upstate NY, I know plenty of them. You come across plenty of trophy hunters who are just after the biggest set of antlers they can find to mount on their wall, but you also run into many who are nature friendly. These are the people that shoot to eat, clean up after themselves to leave no human trace behind, and don't destroy the environment around them, because they realize the places they can actually hunt are dwindling. I am positive PETA won't like these ads, but they have bigger fish to fry... err... vegetables to grill. They are more occupied at the moment with P-Diddy's line of dog fur coats.

If any hunters should be shun, shun those who go out to shoot the prairie dogs with the .50 caliber sniper rifles for the fun of it.

The Diminutive Male Genitalia Disorder Research Organization has just published conclusive research linking unusually small penis size and hunting. http://www.dmgd.org/

Given these new findings, I think the campaign is extremely brave and a huge step forward in the fight to eliminate the prejudice and discrimination faced by so many pinky dick man-boys. So go ahead, be proud, tell the world you've got a small dick, carry a big crossbow.

College kids can be so WITTY.

Great campaign for the crossbow.

Exactly why I have never gone to college. The urge to blow it to pieces due to those socialist scumbags like WMU and Justin would be too great.
