VW Un-Pimps Your Ride
As a follow up to its GTI Fast commercials, VW has unleashed another set called Un-Pimp Your Auto which, as the title eludes does just that with three spots bringing three pimped pimped out cars and their owners back to reality all while highlighting the new VW GTI Mk5. As a bonus, the ads feature that long haired dude from FOX's Prison Break who got offed last year. He needed a new gig anyway and he got one.

this is a lame spot. the whole pimp my ride thing has been done. did we really need a second campaign for the car.
Done or not, I like these spots. Peter Stormare makes them. I also think they manage to show that you don't need all that gaudy junk to drive fast. Making fun of posers seems to be popular these days. The T-Mobile spots are pretty funny too. Again it's all in the acting, in this case the posers make the spots.
I agree, these ads are so good! They're not only funny as hell but there are some really smart details in them. Like the name of the first car changes from 'the Flame' to 'the Lame'. Very nice copywriting indeed! But also the art direction, fim direction and acting is sweeeeet! Peter Stormare his preformance is sheer genius.
