'Baltimore Examiner' Changes The Way You Feel About Newspapers
We're not sure whether this commercial reaffirms the uselessness of printed newspapers or somehow explains why a recently launched newspaper called The Baltimore Examiner is so much better than your average newspaper. The new publication is owned by Clarity Media and will publish six times per week.

Aside from it's intended meaning, how this paper is too good to be used to cover your head, blah, blah, blah...I think it does both. It illustrates just how big the ratio is between those that think "print" is legacy and those that don't. Probably 1 out of 20 think it's not!
I just came across this...
Steal This Newspaper
Published: April 17, 2006
ABOUT a month ago, The Star Tribune in Minneapolis let it be known that, as a cost-cutting effort, free copies of the newspaper would no longer be broadly available around the newsroom.
Skip to next paragraph Instead, the staff was offered an electronic edition of the paper — "an exact digital reproduction of the printed version," no less — that they could access online. Those who insisted on seeing the fruits of the their labors in its physical form were told that they could purchase copies for 25 cents, half the retail cost, from boxes around the office. (This change in policy was first reported by City Pages in Minneapolis.)
You gotta read the rest of the story....

I am interested in advertising in The Baltimore Examiner. I would postal mail a display ad to you. WHAT IS YOUR POSTAL MAILING ADDRESS?

I have been very displeased with the Baltimore Examiner. The biggest problem I have with the paper, you can NOT stop it from coming to your home. I have been calling them for 4 weeks now, asking to stop the paper from being delivered, and every week, it is there again. In my neighborhood, there are houses with literally a dozen papers laying in the street, and you can be sure, the next day, there will be a dozen and one. The Examiner's answer for this, the carrier is supposed to pick up any paper that is on the ground for more than 2 days. Someone needs to get a little better control of their carriers, because they are not doing their job.
There is one place this nasty newspaper belongs- IN THE GARBAGE. If the morons at distribution actually got the crap to stop coming to our house, I'd probably read them via web but since they are too dumb I won't waste my time. No REAL newspaper (free or not) has to distribute to the unwilling public. My bet is the Examiner really isn't actual news, but a political agenda disguised as such.
I think those of us who can't get them to stop should form an organization that takes all the worthless papers (including the wet moldy ones) and dumps them on the steps of their building each week.
I have called the Examiner (Baltimore) numerous times to have them stop sending this worthless daily tabloid and to stop littering our neighborhood(s). It stopped for a while and then they must have hired a new dirver. Now not only do we still recieve this trash but the new driver stops her car at about ~3am and gets out and walks around talking on her cell phone while throwing it randomly around the houses.
It is time to start collecting this litter and return it to its owner, as they seem to not be concerned with littering up our yards and neighborhoods. At first I was thinking of returning it to the office building in the inner harbor, but then I thought maybe the exectutive office/managment would best benifit if we dumped it in their yards. So far we have found this: http://199.244.139.204/examinerintranet/stafflistlocation.cfm
web site which list some of the staff. We are thinking that Michael Barnum's front lawn might be a good place to start. If anyone knows or could post his street address it would be much appreciated, as we already have quite a collection
of excellent reading material just wating for him.
Also if anyone knows the street address's of any of the other Baltimore Examiner's upper management , plesase post it, as we would like to "re-distribute" this high quality product to thier "affluent neighborhoods" as evenly as possible.
The correct person to call at the Baltimore Examiner to have the paper stopped would be Michael Barnum's assitant, Laura.
