TBWA, France is responsible for this AIDS awareness ad, the third installment of what apparently started out a slightly more charming series. Thanks go out to FishNChimps who, as usual, knows how to send us home happy.
We love love love love love love love PSAs from the French. They're masters of the subtler message delivery arts.
Oh, the fabled office party. That national workplace pass time which accomplishes nothing except to make you look like an idiot in the morning for that thing you did last night which, in the heat of the moment, you thought was funny...but really wasn't. There are countless stories of office parties gone wrong but Metro Gym wants to help. Well, at least with one ass-pect of of the party: toning your ass to perfection so when you place your naked ass on the copy machine, the reaction to the result will be jealously rather than laughter. Metro Gym thinks there's nothing hotter than a tight ass sitting on a copy machine and they promise to help you get that tight ass.
A group of Boise mothers are miffed over a recent billboard promoting the Indianapolis-based Bob and Tom show which shows the pair emblazoned cartoon-style on a t-shirt stretched across a pair of very large breasts alongside the headline, "2 Boobs in the Morning.". The Boise affiliate which airs the show, in response to complaints, has decided to take down the board.
One mother, Kayla Mooso told Indianapolis television station WRTV, "My kids both saw it and my daughter is seven and she said, 'Mom, that's gross, that's immodest.'" Hmm, any seven year old who can use the word "immodest" certainly has the right to an opinion.
Okay. The whole half-naked gyrating, preening chick thing? So unimaginative. Every artist's used that shtick to draw eyeballs to otherwise poorly thought-out music videos.
Here's a really awesome way to ensure your crappy single sticks out while maximizing the fullest potential of your props. Thank you Originalcast.
We should mention we have no problem with objectification in general. In fact, we kind of like it. Possibly the pseudo-'80s context, shitty hats, bad music and pretentious posturing put us over the edge. Or maybe it was the drumming over immobile breasts. Sometimes it's hard to tell.
Where back in the day The Cars said "Let the good times roll," vibrator maker Soft Paris says let the good times vibrate with the lyrics "you should plug it, let's all plug it" in this iPod-style commercial for the company's Oh My God-inducing OhMiBod iPod plugin sent to us by Shawn Waite. The device promises to rock your inner world Beautiful Agony-style with the pulsating beat of your own iTunes collection.
We can just hear the frantic, mid-orgasm calls to Apple tech support from the office bathroom complaining the device is stuck and won't turn off and, while admitting between orgasmic breaths of air extended periods of pleasure aren't normally a problem, returning to a meeting in full-on orgasm certainly would be a bit embarrassing. Now that's something that'd surely awake any CSR from their coma-inducing day at the office. Though this device may surely be fun for some, Ariel thinks it looks like a Tampon which we're sure is a "device" that isn't all that fun to insert or to have stuck inside.
Even though this happened last month, it seems to have slipped undetected under our radar though we're not sure how given our unique propensity for all things wacky and wierd. Sony, in a not so twisted effort to illustrate the gruesome nature of its just launched God of War II PlayStation2 game, thought a slaughtered, beheaded and gutted previously live goat would do the trick. The goat was central to a party the gamer held in the UK which also featured an offal-eating contest, knife throwing, snake biting and topless waitresses with painted on tops.
Predictably, the International Fund for Animal Welfare was not pleased calling the stunt "outrageous. The organization's spokesman said, "We are always opposed to any senseless killing of an animal and this sounds like a gruesome death. We condemn Sony's actions. It is stupid and completely unjustified."
The Television Bureau of Canada isn't too pleased with a recent commercial from Chanel and has refused to air the ad. The spot, featuring semi-naked female perfection rolling about seductively in bed while asking her man if he loves her lips has been deemed too risque for Canadian television. The TVB says portions of the ad must be pixelated before they will approve it for broadcast. Predictablely, Chanel is balking. Chanel Canada's Public Relations Executive Director Anny Kazanjian told Marketing Daily, "When you tamper with the original product, it doesn't really leave much. Once you begin changing it, you really move light years away from what it's intended to be, and that defeats the purpose."
It had to happen and who better to do it than Axe. We're sure you're familiar with Alex Tew's Million Dollar Homepage phenomenon that actually did make a million and with the thousands of other copycats that made nothing close. Now, Axe has done what it does best: find a way to work a scantily-clad babe into every piece of marketing they do with their own million dollar homepage-ish effort. While we think Smash My Viper did a similar thing better with their own collection of scantily-clad babes, this Axe effort has extended itself to answering machine foolery and a video in which a
Portuguese Brazilian model strips on webcam. This being YouTube, and not Dailymotion, she, of course, does not strip all the way down to nothing. No matter, the 15 year olds will love this one.
Now here's one for the ladies and for everyone else who enjoys watching ripped men take their clothes off in a locker room. Oh yes, there's the occasional female prancing about as well but she keeps her clothes on. Clearly, this is not Virtual Bartender. Silly Girl Ariel points us to the new Levi's Lady Style site where the latest female denim styles can be checked out while ogling men seductively preparing to take a shower. Apparently, it's not all that exciting as Ariel dubs it's presented "in the most yawn-garnering fashion."
While it's quite common to see people disappearing into their own world while attached to their mp3 player and busting dance moves they'd never do if they knew people were watching, we're pretty sure most don't strip while doing so. Unless. of course, they're the Sixteen Candles Geekish type like the guy in this video touting the beauty of Philips Bluetooth headphones which simultaneously connect to your mp3 play and your phone. Created by Isobar and Lukien, the video illustrates why it's best to pay at least a tiny bit of attention to your surroundings. It's also a brilliant demonstration of the product's feature.
